Yep thanks, server load spiked for a currently unknown reason. We have the forum software set to basically switch the site off once the server load exceeds a certain value. While it's annoying, it essentially gives the server a chance to catch up on the tasks and recover....much better than the alternative of being overwhelmed and crashing.
Considering the crash a few nights ago, and visible load spikes last night and tonight, there is obviously something going on that needs fixing.Steve

I got a server too busy message when attempting to reload my boat thread on the Storer forum a few minutes ago (circa 10 pm, 9 Mar '11). Seems to have cleared up now though, and this thread loaded from scratch just fine. And I have been finding the forum appallingly slow on the odd occassions in the evening as well, but have put that down to overloading on Optus' local cable feed (it's highly congestion-sensitive).
Cheers,
Alex.

What's going on with the forum?
Is it just me, I'm experiencing problems getting into the forum. Sometimes I get straight in, and at other times I have to wait ages for a page to load up.
What's going on Neil?

For tonight at least you can expect things to be slow. The internet is choked with people watching video of the Tsunami in Japan.
