G'Day
Hi
Thought I'd introduce myself since there's a whole section dedicated to doing just that!
I'm Andrew, 31 and living in the Sutherland area. Grew up around a grandfather who'd turned a 2 1/2 car garage into the best workshop I've ever seen and loved working with him. Strangely enough ended up in a totally opposite profession as a programmer, I've done a fair amount of little projects over the years but after buying my first place early last year I'm finding plenty more to do and enjoying it greatly.
Found the site when looking for info on Dad's old toledo chisels. I have a growing obsession with chisels it seems...
Cheers
Andrew

Welcome to the forum Andrew,
You'll find a stack of helpful ladies and blokes
doing all sorts of different things.
Personally I enjoy my woodwork as relaxation,
plus it's great to give away something you've made.
Enjoy your woodwork, miles better than "programming".
Cheers, Crowie

Hi Andrew and welcome to the forum. Oh to be 31 again. I am 35 myself (second time round though) it was much more fun the first time.
Reality is no background music.
Cheers John

Welcome fellow programmer. Let's hope you ain't a .net developer! ) My avatar might give you a hint of my area software development.
So welcome to the mad house and enjoy your time away from the computer, I know I do.

I'm not a .net guy thankfully!. Not sure I'd admit it if I was
and I'e already been told off for cramming a rather small garage full of tools, so I'd better not acquire any more!

I'd love a shed, but maybe in the next place where there's more than 10ft square of yard!
In terms of keeping things tidy, I live with an accountant. That means that unless everything's neatly labelled and in alphabetical order it just won't do! I spent 3 hours in the garage yesterday evening tidying, making pegboard cabinets and tool racks etc....she's pleased with it though so all's good now

Sadly the 2ft clearance around the car gets those longer projects...right now it has a pegboard cabinet waiting to be hung so I can find my tools to get on with other projects!
