what finish?
I have a round wooden kitchen table that is no longer needed in the house
I have thought about using it as an outdoor dining set under a shade sail
I have to sand the old finish off was just wondering what type of finish would be best on it? i want to see the timber through the finish

For outdoor use, you have to use the exterior finishing materials.
My favorite for outdoor wood finish is spar varnish.
It is a simple finishing material, easy in application and designed for outdoor.
You can also use the other material such as exterior PU or car paint.
Thanks
Good luck.Last edited by Moderator; 26th August 2011 at 09:50 PM.

Decking oil can also be used. Build up a few coats then polish with some 0000 steel wool. Seen a couple of tables done like that and they look great.
