Oils aint Oils
Hi I have made a large number of cutting/cheese boards mainly as presents and sold a few at work. I was buying mineral oil from ikea but its not the most convinent place for me to get it from. So after talking with guys in my woodworking club I started using cheap cooking oil ( yes I have read all the threads on the forum) as none of the guys who use cooking oil have had any problems. But I have noticed that it really alters the colours and makes the timber look very drab. I was wondering if anybody knows of another supplier of mineral oil in Perth
Have uploaded a couple of photos

Hi Jerryj - Not sure but I think either Carba-Tec or Timbecon may have the FoodSafe+ oil. If not it can be ordered online via www.ubeaut.biz

Thanks for all the help I'm going to Carbatec tomorrow to pick up large triton router, will have a look for some oil.
Peter I dont have any problem selling the boards or giving them away. Biggest problem is finding the timber to make them. I am lucky the next door neighbour gives me alot of timber as he does recylced flooring from demo sites foe a living.
All the best Jerryj
