For anyone interested, there is a free demo of a Grand Theft Auto style game (for IBM PC compatibles) here:
http://www.pgd.netstarweb.com/viewtopic.php?t=1963
The download is about 9.5 megabytes. There's no scoring but the graphics are good so it is fun to just drive around.
You need directX 8 or above installed. Just unzip the downloaded file into a separate directory and then run config.exe. Choose your settings and click on "Save & Start Game". Next time, just run Game.exe.

 I downloaded it but cant see ANY exe files to run, neither config.exe nor game.exe.

The download file is a .zip archive. i.e. it contains several files that have been amalgamated and compressed with "Winzip", a well known file compression utility. This is done to decrease the file size and therefore the download time.
If you are on windows 98, you'll need the Winzip program to extract and uncompress the files. Windows 2000 and XP should be able to extract and uncompress zip files automatically (just double-click on the zip file).
You can download a free evaluation version of Winzip from http://www.winzip.com.au/
Believe me, Winzip is the best thing since sliced bread when you need to send files across the internet. Apart from compression (not much for .exe files but often more than 10 to 1 for database files and documents), there is also the benefit of being able to send everything as one file rather than many separate files.

mmmmmm....yep, did that, it unzips into another folder which has 4 sub-folders which contain mostly .pas files. Not an exe file in sight.

Sorry, my error. They've changed the web page completely since I looked at it. I'm amazed you found the download at all. However you must have got the program source code, not the compiled demo. Try here http://www.gtatools.com/tss/ and click on "Demo", not "Source".
