How to spray a glossy finish
I have a number of timber blocks about 150 x 150 x 40 that need to be painted in a glossy white finish.
Previously I have used waterbased enamel, but by the time you add all the thinners and additives to get the correct viscosity for my HVLP spray outfit, I end up with a satin finish.
I would welcome any suggestions on getting a glossy finish with a spray gunregards,
Dengy

After you have finished the spraying are you polishing the finish when it is hard? As the paint dries it does dull down a little to a sort of satin finish but once it is hard usually one or two days you can then sand the surface with very fine wet n dry paper and then polish it up to a high gloss using a rubbing compound.

To finish in high gloss is rather difficult. The some minor defect that may not visible in the low gloss will seem obviously in the high gloss. You need to prepare the good finishing room and also the proper material. You also need the skillful spray man. You also need the good preparation in the unfinished product.
