Default How to get rid of MDF smell

Hi guys, i upholstered a wooden box the other month that was made out of MDF and now I can smell the MDF wood and its quite strong. Is there a way to get rid of it? Should I have primed it or something? Should i have used a different wood?

Picture of the box can be found here

    Thanks in advance

I was interested to see the photo to establish what you are dealing with I am supprised that the smell would be that pronounced that it is anoying, try some citris based oil, a couple of dabs inside, or some quality perfume. If it is a musty smell it may be damp and needs to dry out in the sun for a bit

Nilodour (sold in a tiny little bottle usually in the cleaning aisle at a large supermarket) is my go-to solution for smells.
