New Merbau Around Pool (How much prep work?)
Hi All
I know there has been much discussion about how to prep Merbau and I have come to the conclusion that it needs to be washed with the Napisan solution as well as prepped using Floods Spa n Deck Prep as I will be using Spa n Deck Jarrah on the deck.
This is all well and good but how bout when being laid around a pool?
I have been told that I should be treating both sides of each individual piece seen as it is going around a pool which makes sense but to wash, prep, and oil each individual plank before laying will be a very timely and tedious process. Is this necessary?
Another question, I was just going to use the merbau cut down to 64 x 19mm turned on its side to form the border on the water side. The top 300mm of the pool is tiled so I would rebate the bottom of the border to form a 10 x 5mm overhang for a nice finish.
This is fine for the square edges but around the step area is a semi-circle so not sure how I am going to attack it or whether I need to change my border idea all together.
I guess what I an saying is what is a good border method to use when bends and curves are involved?
