Default Duckweed - from Bundamba QLD

    Hi,

    My name is Gary.

I've been a woodworker in the past.....and I'm about to get back into it again.

I was a foundation member of SA Woodgroup and an Accredited Craftsman with the SA Crafts Council in the early 1980's.

My partner and I owned a fine crafts gallery called "Cousin Jack's" and, back in those days, I supplied turned woodcraft to a variety of fine craft galleries throughout South Australia.

Eventually, my bank manager (and my partner) suggested I go and get a real job and the rest (as they say) is history.

I sold my lathes and tools when we moved to Queensland about 13 years ago.

These days, I have a Vicmarc 100, a mitre saw and a Triton Workcentre (and a real job).

I'm setting up my shed to make some things for the house......and for my abiding passion in integrated backyard food production (microponics).

    Gary

    Hi Gary,

Welcome to the forum, long time no see.

Interestingly, there are a few guys here with aquaponics systems too, so I'm sure your knowledge and experience will be greatly appreciated in some of the non-woodworking threads. My system still operates in a limited capacity and without fish after I lost all 75 silver perch one fateful night.

Do you still do quail as well ?

    cheers
    Derek

    Hi,

Thanks for the warm welcome, folks.

Good to catch up with you, Derek. Still keeping the quail.

    Thumbs up

G'day Gary and welcome to the shed!!

That's the problem with bank managers and SWMBOS - no sense of adventure!
