G'Day from another Brisbanite!!
Hi All,
I have visited these forums on a couple of occassions whilst searching in google for other things and thought it was about time I joined in on the fun.
My name is Tony and I moved to Brisbane from Scotland in 1982 with my wife. My wife and I now have two Australian born sons.
I am a trade qualified shopfitting joiner with several years experience doing things the old way, and the majority of it by hand and working with some very exotic timbers, however I have been out of the industry for the last god knows how many years, but still keep myself actively involved in working with all sorts of materials including timber, plastics/acrlyics and even steel.
My current equipment is a reasonable collection of various hand tools, power tools, belt and disc sander, small wood lathe, sliding router bench, and a Woodfast table panel saw.
My latest addition will be my 2440 x 1220mm CNC 4 axis router which I have made from scratch which is very near completion. (Paint and electronics to complete) should be great when I get this baby up and running!! and I will be looking to keep it busy with many projects.
I am also looking to set up my double garage as a small workshop and will be looking to set it up to provide an efficient work space. I will be also looking to install a reasonably decent dust extraction system for the equipment I have, and with a little flexibilty for any future equipment to be added.
Anyway enough from me, I'm glad to be here and it looks like I have a lot of reading and catching up to do.
Cheers
Tony.

Latest Update
Hi All,
We are getting to the stage where we are almost ready to start testing and running our machines. It has been a while since I last updated and thought it was about time I gave you all the latest.
The build has went very well just a little slower than was hoped for, but the main thing is we are nearly there. Should not be too long now until we are running our first cuts
Anyway here are some photos of our progress and where we are at today.

WOW Tony that's pretty you beaut.
I'm very impressed and I can see it'd be a fun machine to work, making some very special items.
It looked a very fine cutter and a number of passes to cut through the timber.
How is dust dealt with?
Cheers, Crowie

Crowie,
I'm pretty happy with the way it has turned out and thanks for your comments.
With regards to the cutter it was just an old V Bit cutter I had lying around, the cut was very clean and could have done it in one single pass, however that was our very first test cut. The Gcode is a test cut and was already set for the Beep!! Beep!!
I too am looking forward to cutting many nice and special items
Cheers
Tony.
