What the fresh water fishing like on the Sunshine coast of Queensland?

Freshwater fishing exists, and there are quite a few well stocked dams in the hinterland, but you won't find trout or salmon!.

Generally here only hard-core sports fishing fans bother.... there's plenty to catch in the salty stuff with a lot less effort. I gather it's a lot of fun, but not being hard-core, I can't help too much!

Attached pic is my neighbour Charlie's effort early this morning. No, it's not a shark, it's a Cobia, caught about five miles offshore...( the only thing he's ever caught of course, so he's pretty happy).

You don't need to chase things of this size either, the variety of fish life is pretty amazing.
