Infill plane all tuned up
Finally finished my little rebate plane and I'm very happy with it. Lapping took longer that I thought it would but it looks great and works well. It is a big improvement on the old one because it is comfortable to hold and use.

Very very nice plane! My compliments
The iron seems thicker than commercial ones. How thick is it?
Bravo!
Ciao

Well done Tink. It looks like you have a great little plane there. May you get many years of productive service from it.
All the best

Thanks for the comments guys. I ground the blade out of an old 20mm paring chisel when I made the first version of the plane 15 years ago. It is about 5mm thick. I just marked out the side sections with a texta and ground away the waste with an angle grinder. I then straighted the sides withe bench grinder.
