Do not revisit previously owned homes
During our married life my wife and I have moved house roughly every 3 to 4 years. During that occupancy period we have established gardens and generally improved on the house etc. Maybe they weren't to display home standards but the looked great.
No, we're not property speculators, we just like a change of scenery every few years.
On several occasions we have driven past homes that we have sold. What a soul destroying exercise! The gardens have been let go, the houses not maintained and the whole properties have gone downhill in a big way.
Sure, in most cases, we made a profit when we sold up but we also put our heart and sole into them. Almost certainly the buyers would have lost money when / if they resold but that's not the point.
Anyway, we have vowed never, ever, to revisit a house that we have previously owned.
