Making (DIY) external walls??
Copy of AS1684.1, .2 in hand, have a re-assess day of building, first on flooring then on wall framing.
If I were to ask a manufacturer to build some walls to hold my roof up, they would use (90x45 MGP10) a double plate for the top plate, I believe a double stud in the outside (packed with a gap, I think I saw of 45mm) then they would put lintles in where I would have a door or window basically. Then they would put a strap (min N1/N2) on each stud corner 100mm on each side (for tie down). Would they also put a strap from top plate across lintle to stud. and the same on the bottom plate stud?
Then brace the wall as per std over top plate opp side ( I notice the AS std picture has the wall brace on the next stud (just inside) the brace is there a reason for this?
