Restoring Bentwood Chairs
Have just stripped back to natural wood, 6 beautiful bentwood chairs - circa 1981. What is to best product to re-finish them with. I want a natural light colour - maybe a very light stain followed by polyurethane or 2 pack?? Any suggestions out there?

My mate's wife does them up and uses Feast Watson floor seal, just a couple of coats, maybe 3. Gives a beautiful satin sheen, which is even nicer if you wax it.
Cheers

Thank you for that - do you know if she stains them first?

No, no stain. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't use stain if the colour isn't right

Ros,
agree totally with mic-d, see my thread on FW floor seal dated the 9th of October in this Forum, I hand rubbed the first coat with lint free cloth (tee shirt) light sand (400 grit) after 24 hrs to remove raised grain, following coats carefully brushed on. Brilliant finish.
