    Cool!
    Yes like that.
Why did you use so many pins along the base?
Did you put any pins through the timber?

    BTW
    Looks spectacular

    Thanks Tink.
I don't see the number of rivets as all that many, rather just enough.
I needed three in front of the throat as a minimum, then one behind the throat, and another a the back, and how many to fit between those two to be absolutely certain not a single bulge or distortion of any kind...well might as well use a similar spacing as the front three.
The drilling and riveting is by far the fastest and easiest part of making the plane, another reason not to skimp.
If I remember correctly I used three pins in the front, and 2 in the back wooden infill.
The metal pins are coat-hanger wire, nice soft stuff that is easy to rivet. One trick there is to put the long piece in the vice and pien it over at one end, cut approximately to length, then slide it in the hole. Has the added advantage of roughing up the sides in the jaws of the vice for a nice tight fit. Then when inserted file down and go about piening the other side.
What suburb of Melbourne do you live in?
    I'm in the Outer East.
A meet, chat and a look might be worth while.

    Regards,
    Peter
