Adding forumrunner and touchbb plugins for mobile access
Hi,
Would be great if you would consider adding a plugin for one of the iPhone native forum apps. Examples include forumrunner and touchbb which both require you to install a additional plugin.
The vbulletin mobile support for safari is almost useless and now I can't even get page navigation working!

Woodwork Forums was optimised for mobile phone use long before iPhones were invented and was almost cutting edge.
Reno was never optimised for mobiles so runs reasonably well with iPhones as it always has for Windows mobile on pda's and mobile phones.
Anyway. Tapatalk is now on these forums and there is now an app for it somewhere on your yuppiPhone, shoulsd also be able to find on your BlackBerry, Android, and Nokia.clonephones.
Take it out for a spin and let us know how you get on.
Cheers - Neil

Hi Neil,
When I loaded the forum on my iPhone earlier tonight I got a popup saying it had been enabled for Tapatalk. So I thought I'd try it.
The app looks alot different to a normal forum view, I think it would take some getting used to - but it may be easier to read it than how it used to come up on Safari's browser (largely text based and I had to do lots of zooming and panning to move around).
But I then exited Tapatalk and loaded it again in Safari - and what you have done has somehow also changed it for the better in Safari! It now looks like the proper forum, fits nicely on the screen too.
Attached is a screenshot of Tapatalk, and the new look in the Safari browser (the font looks small in these shots, but its actually readable).
In summary, I wasted my 3 bucks on Tapatalk - this new Safari view I find heaps better!
Thanks for whatever it is you have done.
P.S. Writing this from my iPhone while in bed and waiting for a work problem to be sorted. But accessing the forums while on a slow Sydney train is also awesome! For these reasons I love my iPhone.
Thanks!
Nathan.

Have to agree about tapatalk. It is pretty useless for the iPad. Ar there any plans for the ipad?

I just checked Safari and it worked for me too. It is a much better view now. Just like on a PC.

Thanks for that Nathan - All we did was take off the old (pre iPhone) optimisation which is now old hat.
Strangely enough I have a Samsung Omni which came out around the same time as the first iPhone. I got it because it would send and receive photo's (not available in first iPhones) and had hand writing recognition, also not available for original iPhone and unfortunately still not available.
Anyway I have never really had a problem accessing either forum with this, but that may be because it's also Microsoft Mobile pda. In landscape view I can see and read pretty much everything. Definitely not as fancy as the iPhone, no apps, etc but the advantage of being able to use a little pointy stick (stylus) instead of a boofy finger is wonderful. Especially when you can write on the screen and it's instantly transformed into text.
All that aside....
Would like to hear from others at to their experiences and if it works to them also as there seems to be a little difference between phones using this app.
Cheers - Neil
PS this message written by hand on my old Omni

Shouldn't be a problem with the forums if you don't use tapatalk or so I believe. There isn't an app that I know of for the iPad but I believe they're working on compatibility and app for inclusion in the latest upgrade of vBulletin which we will be installing some time in the nearish future.
No idea why but have heard forums work better on ipad tap - whatever that is.
Cheers

Only issue so far is when I upload images it uploads them to tapatalk website and inserts a link to it in the forum (
Also no emoticons
But really nice to be able to browse in tapatalk I definitely prefer that and then I might just use the safari link to post and get the best of both worlds

After a day of use so far - it's fantastic and it's kind of like facebook no emoticons their either.
Would be great if it would support direct image uploads but hey you can't have everything very pleased and worth the $4 betterthan safari even with new iPhone interface!!!
