    Default Finishing WRC shutters

I searched for a thread on this subject unsuccessfully. Thought it would have been covered.

I have bought a WRC shutter kit to be installed inside my daughters home. The supplier recommends I wipe on 1 coat of 'furniture oil' and it will last for ever and as it dries it won't hold the dust. I want the timber to retain it's natural colour as much as possible.

Has anyone had experience with internal shutters (no exposure to the weather) and finishing and like to offer me some suggestions.

Hmm, personally, I'd go for a light shellac finish rather than oil, but that's just me.

    cheers

Having lived in a house for 25 years with every b.i robe door in the five bedrooms and all bathroom cupboards made of louvred shutters, believe me, they are dust magnets, and difficult to clean!
