    Lovely stuff Mapleman - It's Forest Red Gum in Queensland as well.
    When you call it Forest Red Gum we all know what you are talking about - if it's called Blue Gum we can't be sure.

    The entire log was covered in lumps and wart like things,never seen anything like it before.Will be milling the butt tomorrow,thinking it will reveal something special

    Hi Pat,the boards are 215mmwide,1800mm long,and 30mm thick(quartersawn).

    I've got a heap of decking boards for our front deck which show that kind of figure "Bluegum" is a fantastic timber. Sometimes she gives you nasty surprises with bug holes bigger than ya thumb, other times you get glorious sticks like you've got Mapleman

    Really love the stuff.Milled a log around 800mm few days ago it had a far bit of grain separation,wondering two things,is this a common problem in Blue Gum,and what causes it?Lightning maybe?Still produced good boards but could only get 4x1's out of it.
