Converting Under the house...
Hi All,
I'm pretty sure this will have come up before, but I am considering converting a currently "dead" space under my house (full of junk but not otherwise useful) into a workshop.
However, the height from the current so-called floor to the bottom of the joists is only 1800-1900mm.
My house is a 1950-1960 odd post-war thing on large concrete stumps.
My question is, what is the likelihood of something bad happening if I were to dig the floor down around 200-300mm around those stumps? Obviously I would prefer the house not to fall down...
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheerio,
sCORCH
