Hi everyone. I'm retired and I've been working with wood as a hobby for about 14 years now and I recently bought a new 18" BS500 bandsaw. I know that they are made in China now, but a search revealed that this brand used to be Australian and that it was a much revered name there. I'm sure the quality isn't the same nowadays, but a web search revealed that there has been some discussion about the model I bought on this forum, so I joined up in the hope of learning more about it. Otherwise I thought it might be fun to get acquainted with some of you folks down there.
Theory is when you know everything, but nothing turns out right. Experience is when everything turns out right, but nobody knows why. In my shop theory and experience are combined. Nothing turns out right and nobody knows why.

Hi MG, there is a saying here, without photos it doesn't exist so a few photos of some of your projects would just confirm who you are and that you are not just a figment of our imagination.
18" band saw, I could do with one of those
