We intend to crush the brick piers under our Queenslander (ca. 6 m3) and re-use them in rammed earth walls planned for the extension. Timber sties are normally used today to temporarily support old houses but we'd like to use Acro Props, with one on each side of the piers. Once the brick piers are removed we'll dig the concrete footings for the replacement steel posts with 2-person hand held augers, then pour the concrete, ready for the steel fixers. There's no need to lift the house.
Just wondering if we're doing the right thing using Acro Props, because builders we've spoken to say they use sties. Any comments? Suggested spacing of Acros to allow for digging of holes?

Thanks,
Daybreak
