Ctj-680 vs Ctj-381
G,day, looking to buy 15inch thicknesser, narrowed choice down to one of the carbatec models mentioned above but having touble deciding which one to go with. Both have similar specs with little difference in price and neither seems to have any extra or exceptional feature to distinguish it from the other. Like to hear reviews from owner/users of these machines for the basis of an informed comparison. Cheers sorgi.

About the only things that really stands out between the 2 is that the 680's table is fixed with the head moving up/down whilst the 381's head is fixed with the table moving up/down.
A fixed table is more of an advantage when doing really long stock as you can set up in/outfeed tables/stands and not have to worry about adjusting the height of them.Cheers

.......and the 381 is $150 dearer.
I have the 680 and am very happy with it, chose it over the 381 for the reasons given by DJ.
