Old potbelly & new brick floor installed... But need some advice
Hi, I'd like to start by providing a quick intro; I'm the crazy guy out-bush NSW restumping 1940's weatherboard house (as can't get anyone to come do it... for years now), have successfully smashed bearer then replaced , made an aluminum window stop closing (tried everyones advise nothing works, its going to be great in summer). So brings me to my next problem, decided to newbie the potbelly that has sat in lounge corner just on tin and had weird thing on wall, which I figure was insulation to protect wall. Anyway, have bricked a metre by metre of floor under potbelly, started to brick up wall either side, layed one row of bricks and thought this is going to be to heavy if I continue for the wooden floor and recent restumping work. Any suggestions on what would be lighter and provide a nice back-ground to potbelly and lounge area? And also protects wall from heat damage?
