To have a new house built!!

We subdivided a block and let the existing abode in place. A removal home is to be placed on the other block.

After 12 months of frustration things are finally happening. The Sewer and storm water drainage will be started - and finished next week.

The house will be brouh in ithin a week or 2. As yet the house can actually be moved in. This is despite the fact that we have the red rubber stamped approval.

My main worry now is enclosing the bottom, as the place is a highset.

I have had an engineered slab designed for under neath and a floor plan for the area..

My main concern is how to enclose the area. I know I will have to meet certain criteria with regard to sustainability - mainly installing and connecting water tanks an insulating to the appropriate standard.

I have looked at several options but getting info. on my preferred option is almost impossible. I would like to use Styracon or the weathertex equivalent, but it appears that you need to get a "specialist to do the job.

The other option is to go for wrap, cladding and insulation.


Now: the "stumps" are 75mm square gal steel. I have looked at Weathertex exterior board and at blue board. I gues this means Building a 90mm frame to allow for the installation of wall batts.

I can get !5 sheets of the Weathertex exterior panel @ $60 a pop. They are 3660 x 1200. If laid horizontally they will do about half the house. I would then have to pay $120 for each of the remaining sheets. Or I could use blue board for the other half as it works out at a good price.

Do any of you know if the Weathertex panel can or should be laid horizontally./
