Closing in patio
Hi all,
I am looking to enclose an existing patio to use as a study. It is about 3.5mx2m. My intention was to cut out the handrails and put framing in from the bricks to the two steel post with a window on the front and side walls. There would then be a door between the two steel posts.
I have a few quick questions i hope someone can answer.
1. Do you have to get council approval for this sort of thing in Brisbane?
2. When putting in the stud walls onto the concrete slab what do you need to put under the bottom plate in regards to keeping water out etc. There will be about 30mm of the slab hang out past the bottom of the new wall, as the patio slab hangs out from the brick walls.(see picture 2 below)
Anyway hope someone can offer some friendly advise.
Thanks again
