Englarging doorway in brick load bearing wall.
Hi! (firdst post)
Ive just purchased a 1950's Adelaide brick home and am trying to improve the layout by making a bit more open. Im in a bit of conundrum as I want to remove the wall between the dining room and kitchen because engineers cost too much and are a PITA to deal with. So ive compromised by bringing it back to enlarging the door between instead int he hope I can get away without any structural drawings.
The wall has two perpendicular hanging beams resting on it. Can someone give me advice on what I can do with this wall?
Below is a picture of the proposed section of wall to come out.
