new rangehood flue intersects with jack truss
I'm in the process of installing a flue for our kitchen wall mount rangehood. I'm using a rigid 150mm galvanised steel duct (2.4m length) and venting straight through the ceiling and roof.
I have a tiled hip roof and I find that the vent intersects with a jack truss (ref Staines building book) and the truss would need to be broken. What sort of bracing should I introduce to maintain the structural integrity?
