Ours is called "The Festival State", which is nice except many chose to pervert that to 'Festering State'.
And then there's WA's - "State of Excitement" - yeah, they're always in a flap.
And why is there a penalty for hiding these little ditties? The whole concept of bunging an advertising slogan on the car is a bit ... something. Perhaps I'm just getting old and grumpy. I'm not grumpy am I?

The best plates in Aus are the Queensland ones with the palm tree, I'd have one of these if they were available in NSW.

We've got Victorian number plates everywhere here at the moment.
Victoria - On the Move: Well why don't you move your rubbernecking, Sunday driving asre and get out of my way?
Victoria - The Place to Be: Well why the hell don't you go back there then?
They really know how to set themselves up for a bagging down there, don't they?

And it's not restricted to us. I've got the US plates from a couple of MGs and they both have inane slogans.

Guaranteed way to make yourself look like a total wanker: get one of those number plates that make a word or phrase. We used to see one around Burwood in Sydney. It was a red Honda Civic with number plate QUP2C. If you are reading this, you are a wanker.

I used to have one , it was WHU 1 which is the initials of my soccer team in London. I took a picture of me, the plate and the car and it was published in a match program.
Pump, pump.....

That's not the kind of thing I mean. You can have your name, or your football team or your car or whatever, that's fine. My old man has his name on his. There's nothing wrong with having MGB 001 or BMW 530 or whatever.
I'm talking about a particular type of person who puts something like QUP2C on their number plate. Go for a drive out to Bankstown and you'll see what I mean. Wankers."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

Deckhid if you don't mind.... I got called that (by a wenker) last week somewhere north of Auckland.
Actually, I once thought about changing my name to NKA-704 so that I could have my name on my number plate. At the time a name change cost $15.00 and a personal plate cost $300 so it was a lot more cost effective to do it that way.
Sold the car before the paperwork got finished.

So nice to have you back, BM. How was your venture across the Tasman?
