I had a leaking roof repaired a couple of weeks ago by what I thought was a reputable company.

He has replaced a funny vally which he made up on site out of flat sheet.

When they put the roof sheet back down they have put the screws thru the top end of the vally.

He has told me that the screws were coated with silicone first and that this is pretty normal practice

I am also concerned about the join where the vally and the roof join (See Pic)

Is this normal practice? I am concened that the silicone will break down over time and I am back to square one.

He did charge me a heap to do the job and now won't give me a reciept.

Thanks for any advice
