It's happened again!
Aargh, I am reminded of the words to a song
Forever glum, I seem to be forever glum....(sung mournfully to the tune - Forever Young)
As many of you know, I have been after a Turner 220 for years and they rarely see light of day.
I spotted one on ebay about a week ago and decided to keep it mum so no one would notice it.
Hoping for a sly auction bid was I, pick it up at a good price thought I.
Bookmarked said item and carefully noted its finishing time.
I'll chime in at the death with a quick snipe and the little fellow will be mine says I.
Starting price of $0.99!
Heh heh - things are looking good!
When I logged in after 8:00pm last night it had already reached $150.
It went for $205!

Sniff sniff,........ of course not.
Buuuutttttt. The Turner 220 has eluded me for years as the last remaining Turner to be brought into captivity.
There are only 7 Turners:
220, 4, 4-1/2, 5, 5-1/2, 6 and 7.
You would think it pretty easy to complete a set.
Nope!
Still trying.

You've got a #7? Well done.
I've only got a #5.....and seeing what is happening with my Stanleys and the Marples planes I understand where you're coming from. Had to turn down/not buy a very nice Marples jointer on the last day of a litte holiday that we just took......out of budget.
Next time for sure.........We don't know how lucky we are......

Hi Scribbly,
I feel your pain. This happens to me all the time.
The Melbourne HTPAA tool sale is coming up in a few weeks, if there was ever a place to look that would be it.. (I'll keep an eye open for you)
Regards

What a great shed! So many toys, so little time to admire.
