Make your own external Bi Folds
I have been thinking about this once again, yes I have searched through the posts but I feel as though we havent got a conculsion on if it is easy enough and price dependent on going it yourself.
In my research I find that I would use good quality Centor hinge system for a 3.4m opening $800 last time I checked. 4 doors $150 each and jambs $200 (maybe a bit on the lean side). total $1600. You might be able to cut it down a little but I cant make a decision because I can find any detail on how a set would be constucted and the materials and joinery including fixtures for the frame.
I dont know how the centor system will fit into the wood jambs etc sit on top or a few runs through the router table? can you buy the jambs and basically assemble your self? would there be any saving?
I could do with a set of engineering drawings showing a cross section detail. your thoughts would be appreciated.
