Attached is a live webcam view of our local area. TORQUAY harbour.
For those without previous experience of live webcams this camera operates 24 hours so is best viewed during our daylight time (Australian time 6pm until 2.30am this time of year and 8.30 am during your own wintertime)
Again anyone without web cam experience just go to google type
webcam+the name of the town you want to view and if they have a camera fitted you should be able to enter.
Anyway Torbay web cam

Skyline? It's the middle of the flamin' night. All I could see was black with a scattering of lights. Sheesh. I'm assuming you'rs was the one winking - the place with the pack of fox terriers on the roof trying to steal Santa's Christmas pancakes.
grrr.
Good link, but I think I'll wait 12 hours and have another look.

So that's Torquay, eh?
I think I've worked out that the camera is facing East South East. Bit hard to work out angle of the shadow and that kind of stuff in reverse. If I'm wrong would you tell me which direction I'm looking at. Nice breeze there, the boats are moving slowly after each 5 minute refresh.
Last Christmas after landing in Germany and being a bit tired we hopped onto an Autobahn and I started heading in the general direction of south hoping to pick up signs to Stuttgart from Frankfurt.
After about 40 minutes of travelling and emerging from some savage rain the sun came out and yep, still heading south, when along comes a sign telling us Dusseldorf is only 40 Klm's away.
We were heading almost straight north, forgot about the sun being in the wrong place. The best part was that the missus (she's German) told me to put the foot down otherwise her mother would start to worry if we were too late.
After about 30 minutes we hit a six lane de-restricted Autobahn and some spirited driving ensued. Within four or five minutes a warning sign flashed on the computer part of the speedometer telling me that I was travelling too fast for the pressure in the cars tyres. Very interesting display of passive safety from our Teutonic friends.
What was really interesting is that we were only travelling around 190 km/h with the outside temp hovering around zero º celsius. The next day with a warmer temp of about 12º C the tyre pressures increased by about 4 psi whilst stationery and with more high speed driving the warning didn't come on. Tells one just how critical very cold temperatures can be for tyre inflation, and, as I almost every year travel in the Snowy Mountains during winter I now take this into consideration.

viewing
Just returned from shopping
Yes thats sleet on the camera window.
The view you are looking at according to my reckoning is SW.
Faulty Towers is just to the left of the that large white building on the beach across the bay. (The white building is the Grand Hotel 4 or 5 star.)
Donkey Sanctuary would be to good a name for Parliament more like
Asses sanctuary would be appropriate.
Anyway enjoy the site its the BBC (the well known broadcasting corporation site and the site is masive)woody U.K.

I was quick but even then I could only see where it's been!
After a few hours sitting in the sun here, you'll go back glowing brighter than that!
