Weatherboards
Hi,
I have a 7.0 m wall and am replacing weatherboards- my new primed boards are 5.4's. Apart from not having the joins at the same spot, is there a preferred method of laying out the cuts?
Thanks in advance

just as you said, Vino...... though making sure the joins are way apart would be preferrable to me...... as opposed to a "brick" pattern....... using your 5.4 as a guide and assuming you walls have studs every 450mm you should be able to work out how to do it with minimum wastage. one easy way of course is to go
5.4 PLUS 1.6
then 1.6 PLUS 5.4
then 3.8 PLUS ......etc. - with obvious trimming where the studs are.
or have I made no sense at all, which is highly possible at this time of day

I used to put the first board on. The second board would leave an offcut.
Start the next row with the offcut and so on. As long as the joins are not directly over each other it works ok
