You need to download the 2 files, GTK+2 and Gimp. Install them both.
Start Gimp.
Open up your JPG file.
Choose File/Save As from the menu.
Give your picture a new name but keep the .jpg and press ok.
A window will pop up called 'Save as JPEG'
Tick the 'Preview in Image Window' checkbox
Using the 'Quality Slider' slowly move it to the left until the size is less than 100k. The size is shown under the 'Preview in Image Window' checkbox.
Once it is less than 100k, press ok.
I've attached two images that I've squished (reduced the quality). They are of the same original picture but one is cropped and the other isn't
BreeKaneCropped.jpg Original: 443k Reduced Quality: 96k (around 75%)
BreeKaneFull.jpg Original: 569k Reduced Quality: 97k (around 50%)
Both images still look quite good but are not usable for printing.Photo Gallery

For those interested in the NEXT ONE, jow 104 is coming over from the UK and will be at my place on 29 January.
I will place a post closer to the date.
Plenty of room for tents, caravans etc if anyone wants to come.
We are about 75km SE of Melb, BYO own bag and I will even donate rose food (horse crap).Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.

Iain,
I am looking forward to it but I can't get there too early or stay overnight because of pre bookings.
No doubt you will send us directions when the time is closer.- Wood Borer

Is there a common theme creeping into these BBQ's??
firstly there is the suggestion of hot air/bull at WoodBorers; and now not to be outdone, Iain is already planning plenty of horsecrap.!!
Yep; those lemon trees etc should do well.
But damn; if attendees have to take a bag with them it's either going to be a big meeting or lots of tall tales told. Must be something like the old fisherman tales. The more refreshment, the bigger the fish.
Pity you are so far away Iain.
Ken.
