    Default Unemployment in the USA

One would hope it doesn't get that bad here. Although it doesn't make any difference here in Oz if you are as old as me, no one will give you a job anyway.

I also hope it doesn't get that bad here but i think it will still rise for about 6 months yet.

The other caution i have is that i am not sure we went "low" enough in the recent economical downturn so we might yet have a second bite at that one in the next 2 years.

Sorry but that's just my thoughts.

    Cheers
    regards

    David

No I think you will find we just missed it. We will stay flat for a year or so but thats about it. My worry is the $ US. The Chinese, Japanese and Opec want to link International trade to a basket of currencies plus gold, and drop the domination of the Yanky Buck. If they do that the US will take a bath and that might cause a chill wind our way.

Like i always tell everyone what you read in this or any forum is someone's opinion - which is always right - to them.

You have yours and i have mine - time will tell who is more accurate.

Please don't start you post with an emphatic statement "NO"

    Cheers

    Unhappy

Not a good look at all.

I wonder how many will see this as Obama's fault,

Then sir, perhaps your view of what I wrote is just that. I did not imply an incorrect view, I did not emphasise "NO " I implied I had a different slant on that. The no was like a pause as I mulled over the previous post and created a response. So then your view was just what you believed, not what was actually intended. As such you are accusing me of the very action you are doing.

I tend to agree with you. I see China is back on track with 8% growth and theres a general expectation of the world pulling out of this current spot sooner than later.

Given our ability to supply raw materials to the world, we are in many respects in a enviable position. We have weathered the storm very well all things considered.

No! I think you will find we just missed it......
    this is emphatic.

No I think.... is general conversation, with no emphasis implied.

We usually go to Michigan for the Black Friday sales each year - normally we'd be somewhere in North Western Ohio by this time on our way to our hotel opposite the factory stores in Howell - and the downturn we've seen from 2006 to 2007 and then 2008 was scary. I can only imagine what it's like there this year. Things aren't nearly as bad here in Ontario and when I was home in Jan-Feb things seemed a lot better than it was round here. So thank your lucky stars the idiots on Wall St didn't burn it all down or Oz could have wound up like Iceland!
