Help! Rough Walls!
Hey All,
We've just moved into to a late 1960's ground floor unit. The walls in the living room and the spare bedroom have a horrible finish on them. I will try put up pictures later but a way of describing it would be rough/ gritty/ sharp/ sandy....... I haven't done any serious scraping yet but from what I can see it seems to be a paint finish with a nasty additive! The gritty chips can be quite easily knocked off with a finger nail......
So my question is, and conscious that a picture would be better, does anyone know what it is and how I might remove it? It is awful to look at, not to mention pretty dam sore if you brush against it by accident!! We want to get back to render so we can repaint and have smooth walls.
Any advice would be great. Thanks!
PS. who in their right mind would think this is a nice finish for a wall?!
