Pressure Reducing Valve
We moved into our new house a few months ago, and have always been annoyed with the poor water pressure.
One day I was checking out the water meter, and came across the following fitting:

From searching this forum, it seems that this is a pressure reducing valve.
If I want to increase the water pressure in my house, my question is twofold:
- does the +/- adjustment allow me to increase/decrease the water pressure? Or would I need to get a different valve installed?
- has the valve been fitted because it needs to protect the fittings in the house? e.g. the HWS, Rainswitch on the water tank, dishwasher etc? And therefore fiddling with this is a bad idea. I assume the 500kPa sticker on top is important.
By poor water pressure, I mean the pressure seems significantly less than I am used to in my previous houses (same suburb). e.g. the water practically dribbles into the washing machine, rather than being a strong, steady stream.
