Which glue - How many mm
Hi,
I'm going to have my first crack at laying a direct stick jarrah floor over structa floor. the catch is that the structa floor buts a slab and on the slab will be tiles (which must be at the same height as the timber). The tiles will be laid first. In other words I need to lay the tiles at a height that allows for the floor to be laid, sanded an polished.
Which glue should I use (leaning towards bosik ultraset or sika)?
Once Ive decided on a glue;
How much do I allow for glue and then sanding and polishing?
My current theory is that the glue will be 1.5 - 2 mm thick. Sanding and polishing will take off about the same or maybe a bit less. Therefore I should just level the tiles off of an offcut of the flooring - that way if anything the finished product might be .5 - 1 mm higher than the tiles, but timber is much easier to sand than porcelain - a bit of extra sanding should get them flush
Any educated opinions appreciated.
Many thanks
