found 11/2 x8tpi thread and nut source in adelaide
in my surplus junk yard exploration i came across a lot of 1 1/2 inch x8tpi thread and nuts (other sizes too) i bought one of each and the do fit hercus chuck .the thread is about 28 cms long

box said 1 1/2 inch x 8un the thread fits very nicely into both chucks and the nut screw on to the hercus spindle as good as the chucks

ah work and distractions set in ....all ready to start cutting the internal threads but i thought id better do some learning first so i dont stuff it up still making internal thread tool and doing some reading up on screwcutting bought a book today " scew cutting in the lathe " heaps of reading to do " .. got a bigger motor now with forward and reverse ( no thread dial indicator so i have to use reverse )
and it was bluddy hot under the tin roof today; its all fun so far

I know you asked a question in another post about Screw Cutting,was this in regards to your Internal thread.
If it was and if this Thread is for your Chuck Back Plate my advise would be to cut the Thread Without Offsetting your Compound but the choice is yours.

yes if you are refering to the thread and nut there are more..... pm and ill pass on the address ..... take note they are in adelaide so maybe quite expensive {IF THEY WILL POST] to post they are heavy about 3.5 kilos
