I wish to install any variety of the granite / composite stone in the kitchen. I have been led to believe that this type of product is not suitable for a breakfast table. About 1500 long and 700 wide. Just a slab with it's substrate so that chairs can be slid underneath at about 750 off the floor. Attached to the wall at one end with a single leg post at the other.

I was also told that stone generally does not take to being stood on (to clean the fan) as it can't take the flexing. Is this so? Am i regulated to laminate for this breakfast table installation? I don't want a cabinet underneath nor do I want more than one leg on the end if I can help it.
