G'day team

I am doing a bathroom reno and have removed the concrete floor in the bathroom, along with rebar and took out the old clay plumbing to get new pipework put in. I am replacing the floor with a timber supported floor (100x75 F11 bearer and 95x45 F11 joists. The length of the bearer will be 2700mm so I want to build a pier at 1500mm and another against the outside wall to sit the bearer on. The other end will be supported on an existing pier. The bearer and joists will only be supporting the bathroom floor, nothing else.

I thought it would be quite straightforward but I was reading a thread and thought I'd get some advice. How deep should I make the footings for the piers? Do I have to use brick or can I use pipes filled with concrete? Does the bearer have to be tied to the piers

Thanks

Gordon
