Hi All,

We have a country style house where we have large awnings that run the length of the house, the awning span out 2.7 meters and run the length of the house at around 24 meter long. Under our awning is paved with pavers in a herringbone pattern and I would like to build a ground level timber deck to cover up the pavers. The deck will be under cover so exposure to rain would not apply here. The only problem I have is the clearance from where our bi-fold doors have when you step outside is roughly about one brick course high so I am not sure if this is enough clearance for under the deck.

I would like to know can anybody tell me if this would be a good idea to put the deck over the existing pavers and is there any recommendation to what can be used for the support post to hold the bearers and joist of the timber deck?

Your input is much appreciated.

Thanks
macmen
