structureal floor tie down
Hi Guys, I've been a keen follower of this forum for a while and tought i'd finally jump on. I have a question with my extension that i'm currently doing. Can someone please explain how to tie down the bearer to a brick peir or footing. I have been told to tie down the perrimeter of the extension because it form a light framed construction and as such needs to be tied down. I'm told it comes under AS 1684 but not sure exactly how this is achieved. Can you use a bracket or is there some sort of specific "bolt" that is commonly bought and used?
