Hi All Renovators
Are planning an extension to my house which has a proposed extension offset to the existing house. Any suggestions on how I should handle the roof junction where the two gables join?
Gable end on house currently has a 260mm overhang. Existing roof has a pitch of 12.3 deg and the proposed extension will have 15 deg. House has 2.4 stud height where as extension will be 2.7 stud height however the extension slab is 300mm below existing floor level.
1. Should I just keep the gable short either side of junction point.
2. Or should I create a small valley.
3. Or should I not have any overhang so to negate the need of a junction.
4. Any suggestions gratefully received.

When you view attached image the proposed extension the new build is the rear addition. I am based in NZ and yes at the moment we can still do our own plans as home owners.
If I haven't made my problem clear enough feel free to ask for more specific info.

Regards
Malc
