Electrical Code Help Needed
All the electrical engineers have gone for the day and this is a bit beyond my scope.
We are putting in a unit that has a nominal running current of 88 amps per phase, yeat it has a FLA of 136 amps per phase. The unit would never physically be able to run at that current the fans would reach thier operation limits before the motors got to FLA). Based on the static pressure even the actual running current will be below the nominal 88amps.
The sparky is cracking it because I have said to put cable and breakers in to suit 136 amps per phase even tho he knows there is no physical way the unit can run that high, but thats what the manufacturers data says the FLA are. I agree with him but am worried about meeting code.
Is thier a part of Australian standards that relates to sizing of breakers and cable based on running amps or FLA?
Thanks for your help, like I said I'm not very up to date with the electrical codes.
