Sound Insulating downstairs
Hi there we live in a 3drm house that was built in the 60s, my wife and I and 2 year old son live upstairs and we have just managed to get someone in the self contained flat downstairs. The problem is the sound, upstairs the TGV flooring is laid straight onto the floor joists and downstairs who ever lined it with Gib didnt insulate it at all.
I want to make it a little more soundproof for the new tenant, just general foot traffic from upstairs, I was going to rip the old gib down on the ceiling and buy some gib noiseline and some sound insulation to go in, but am I wasting my time or is there a better way?
