Replacing Particleboard floor with solid floorboards
Hi there!
My daughter is going to move in her new house. 2 years old, all nice and new but...the top floor is carpeted over particleboard and her little one is asmatic.
The carpet must come off and she is thinking in solid wood flooring.
Now besides the obvious choices of laying another floor over the existing one, be it 19mm, 12mm, floating or parket, is it possible to cut the chipboard out and place the floor as it should on the joists, considering it is the top floor and obvioulsy there is an existing cealing?
Also ... there is no doubt that the frame has been placed over the particleboard and I can guarantee that there will be partitions that are not load bearing that run paralell to the joists and are not directly over one. What do you do then?
