Thanks to Rudd giving away free insulation, the industry is in a turmoil, with weeks of delay for products. Products are sold as soon as they hit the floor. We have to plan 2 weeks ahead to get the most basic products and up to six weeks for others.

This is causing delays to some building projects. Suppliers are rationing supplies to favorites wich means some get products and some don't.

I have been getting calls from Sydney almost daily looking for insulation up to 400 bags. Yet I cannot supply insulation in the Sydney market as our suppliers wont/cant supply us as they look after the locals first.

This stimulas package is just a gimmic that was introduced without thinking through the consequenses of the harm it causes other areas of the building industry.

I am sure that many of you can slip down to Bunnings and buy insulation or get it installed is reasonable time. The same can't be said for all those in the Industry as favoratism among supplies and customers dictates who gets what.

We are getting products from up to three supplies as our main supplier just keeps running out of stock. We are substituting products with what ever we can get. In some cases the builder either has to wait untill we can get the product he wants or pay more for product we can get.

Pollyester insulation is easier to get but is half the price again of glasswool.

So if you are building make sure you order your insulation well in advance.

Bravo for Rudd eh!
