Hi,

I am in the design process stage for an extension, DA approved (nsw) I need to address level one fire protection requirements. However most of the standard makes sense.

However, for slab edge details (mine will be RC slab with single skin timber frame with caldding.

Standard states there must be a non combustible barrier upto 400 mm above GL, however combustible cladding is OK below this as long as there is this barrier. What does this translate to in real detail eg do all of the studs have to be fire retartdent timber or does only 400 mm of the cladding need to be higher spec or do have to have a 400 mm strip of another material, can't work it out.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks
